"Ying Hai Wei" is the first Internet company in China, founded in 1995, which has taken on the role of a pioneer of the Internet in China. Ying Hai Wei refers to "Information Highway", and "Ying Hai" is an ancient Chinese mythological sea that surrounds the earth. In the early days of the Internet, this strange and intangible existence induced infinite imagination, in which the transmission of information crossed national borders and people exchanged ideas in utopian online communities. Internet was regarded as a great invention with an internationalist vision that was not yet tightly bound to the capital market.
"Info Highway 2020" is a meditative journey to the early Internet - starting from the glorious smart city, following the temporal and spatial veins of the information highway, through the dark tunnels, in the depths of the desolate Internet relics, lies the womb that nurtures technological idealism.
